
At Hippo, we respect your privacy and give you control over your personal data. This page explains how to request deletion of your account and what happens to your information after deletion.
You can request deletion of your account in three ways:
In the App
Open the Hippo app and go to Settings → Manage Account → Delete Account, then follow the confirmation steps to permanently delete your account.
On the Web
Sign in to the Hippo web app, open /settings, then go to Manage Account → Delete Account and follow the confirmation steps to permanently delete your account.
Via Email
If you are unable to access your account, contact us at contact@joinhippo.com. Please include the email address or username associated with your account.
When your deletion request is processed, we permanently delete or anonymize your account data, including:
Certain limited information may be retained when necessary for:
Some backup or cached data may also remain temporarily before automatic deletion.
Most deletion requests are processed within 30 days after confirmation. In some cases, securely stored backups may take additional time to be fully removed from our systems.
Some data may be processed or stored by third-party service providers that help us operate the Platform. These providers are required to process deletion requests according to applicable privacy laws and contractual obligations.
